Equity Release, Should You Be Scared?

Does anyone really think about this in the context of a plan?

Whilst nothing is more certain than death and taxes people shy away from the inevitable such as funerals or tax planning.

The reality is, that not many people can face planning and pay in advance for their own funeral. Yet leaving such a cumbersome and emotionally tough task to our nearest and dearest is what many tend to do.

This of course doesn’t include the added financial implications of a funeral.

- Fix the cost

- Remove emotional and financial hardship

- Give certainty and definition

Allow focus on other aspects such as reflection, contacting other close ones, and of course the healing process.

By paying for a funeral in advance, the cost is locked at today's price. So if paid now, but the funeral takes place many years ahead, the cost is locked at the pre-paid cost, and there is no requirement to pay additional inflationary increases.

A written guarantee is given with the policy documents that are issued.

Emotional and Financial burden.

Anyone that has experienced the dreaded visit to a funeral parlour will testify to the difficulties that it brings.

Pre-arranging the payment and important factors concerning the funeral itself removes much of the emotional strain.

There is little left to do, with the exceptions of things such as dates, locations and some of the personal touches that are expected at the time.

We include the subject of pre-paid funeral plans in the content that we write and record because there is a growing understanding of the benefits of a plan.

We also intend to help to address the concerns of those that are unsure about what to do. And of course, we aim to listen to the emotional and practical questions that relate to anything that surrounds the issues of pre-paid funeral plans.
